SODC ANNOUNCES CHAIR, VICE-CHAIR & MANAGING DIRECTOR ELECT

The Squamish Oceanfront Development Corporation (SODC) announces that Larry Murray is stepping down as Chair of the Board effective immediately.  As his parting duty, Mr. Murray is pleased to announce the election of his successor, John Turner.

SODC ANNOUNCES CHAIR, VICE-CHAIR & MANAGING DIRECTOR ELECTION

Squamish, BC, September 11, 2007; The Squamish Oceanfront Development Corporation (SODC) announces that Larry Murray is stepping down as Chair of the Board effective immediately.  As his parting duty, Mr. Murray is pleased to announce the election of his successor, John Turner.

Mr. Murray said, “It has been a wonderful and exciting experience guiding the community’s company and administering its asset on the Oceanfront.  John is a founding member of the SODC Board of Directors, and I have absolute confidence in him to lead the SODC successfully through the next chapter in this unbelievable community project.”

Mr. Turner said, “I am honoured to take on the position of Chair of the Board with SODC.  I will do my utmost to move this community initiative forward in the best interest of the taxpayer and public.  There is much hard work ahead, but I am confident that, with everyone working together, we can realize the potential of this exceptional community asset.”

Mr Murray is also pleased to announce the acclamation of Mr. Tom Bruusgaard as Vice-Chair of the Board, and the appointment of Ms. Janice MacLean as Managing Director for SODC.  Ms. MacLean will also continue as a member of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Bruusgaard said, “I am as well honoured to be re-elected by my learned peers on the Board to safeguard the community’s interest in this project.  I am particularly excited about re-engaging the public in the very near future as we re-start the masterplan.”

Ms. MacLean said, “ I am pleased to be able to take on the management of the day-to-day operation of SODC, and as well, I am honoured and look forward to working with the Chair, Vice-Chair and fellow Board members as we continue moving forward.”

The SODC Board wishes to relay its unfettered enthusiasm for this project and its profound commitment to the community interest going forward.
