Deep Sea Port
Squamish Terminals Ltd. is a deep-water, break-bulk terminal located in Squamish, BC and since 1972 has been serving customers in western Canada, across North America and around the world. Squamish Terminals offers efficient handling of forest products, steel, break-bulk and project cargos for loading to or from ocean vessels and barges. Stevedoring services are available by arrangement. Squamish Terminals is a wholly owned subsidiary of Star Shipping AS (based in Bergen, Norway).
With two berths, three warehouses, specialized handling equipment, an experienced work force and an intermodal transportation infrastructure (including rail, ocean and truck), Squamish Terminals efficiently imports and exports cargo to major markets worldwide.
The type of cargo Squamish Terminals handles includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:
- Forest Products (e.g. wood pulp, panel, and lumber)
- Steel Products (e.g. pipe, rebar, coil, h-beam, plate)
- Special Project Cargo (e.g. yachts, trailers, windmill parts, turbines)
Squamish Terminals has developed a working relationship with Gateway Rail and TMS trucking services to facilitate effective movement of break-bulk shipments from vessels to lay down yards. This connection enables specialization in the trucking of cargo to the lower mainland and the handling of import steel products destined for North American locations via truck or rail.
What they're saying...
"I have been living in Squamish for the past 14 years. We have been enjoying our life in the sea to sky corridor and so it wasn't difficult to choose to have my own business in this area. In the next few years as Squamish continues to grow, I can see my business really thriving as Real Estate becomes more and more competitive.
Everyone with the right beliefs and persistence should be able to create a successful business as the Squamish community continues to expand and become more diverse."
