Spirit of BC Week - FREE events for Squamish

You Are Invited to Two Free Community Events to Celebrate the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games One-Year Countdown
During BC Spirit Week February 6- 14, 2009

You are invited to “Catch the Spirit” on February 8 at Brennan Park Recreation Centre for an afternoon of fun and entertainment and to “Reel in the Spirit” at the 2010 Movie Night February 11, 2009 at the Squamish Adventure Centre. The Squamish Spirit Committee, District of Squamish and Tourism Squamish have partnered to put on these free community events to celebrate the one-year countdown to the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
 

Squamish – Free Spirit Day
February 8, 12-4 pm
Brennan Park Recreation Centre, 1009 Centennial Way
On February 8, the District of Squamish will be offering an active afternoon of ice-skating, swimming, crafts, BBQ (Squamish Emergency Program), games, and prizes to help mark the one-year countdown to the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. The afternoon may even see the Olympic Mascots come out and join in the family fun. Lots to do and see in a fun, family oriented way!
Everything is FREE and there are lots of great prizes to be won.
 

Squamish – Reel Spirit 2010 Movie Night
Live it, Love it, Share the Spirit
February 11, 7 – 9 pm
Squamish Adventure Centre Theatre, 38551 Loggers Lane
On February 11, Tourism Squamish is calling for amateur submissions of inspiring and positive video and photography showcasing the spirit of Squamish and/or the excitement around the upcoming Winter Olympic Games. The evening will include discussions with local filmmakers, and an award for Best in Show. The winner’s work will go on to be featured in the Squamish Adventure Centre Theatre during the 2010 Winter Games.
