Trinity Romance
Located at 38155 2nd Avenue in downtown Squamish, Trinity Romance Shop, owned and operated by Eric Armour, received multiple nominations for Local Business of the Year.
Trinity Romance has developed a "sex positive" environment for women, men and couples who want a comfortable and empowering place to enhance their love life.
Armour has since expanded his business to include a successful e-commerce store, and was recently featured as on BusinessSquamish.com as a local Success Story.
One of the nominators spoke highly of the owner specifically, writing...
"Eric has proven to be an astute business man, running his operation with minimal start up capital and making well planned and calculated expansions to get to where he is today. He relies on his own community contributions to create awareness about his business.
He is not afraid of long hours and hard work to develop the somewhat risky and un-tapped market in Squamish and Whistler. His recently launched web site TrinityRomance.com is an example to all Squamish business owners that you need to develop multiple markets in different ways."
Another nominator explains how Trinity Romance meets the qualities of Local Business of year, siting their service, innovation and contribution to business development...
Service - "They go above and beyond the call of duty to provide a comfortable, respectful and educational visit."
Innovative Edge - "They are a leader in an unregulated industry. They are one of two businesses in Canada that carry strictly phthalate-free products (i.e. non-toxic products). This business puts the health and well-being of their client at the forefront."
Contribution to local economic development - "They are one of the leaders with the Business Improvement Association (BIA) and sit on the board. They actively volunteered to organize several local events in 2008 such as Canada Day, Happening Holidays, and the James Bondage Valentines Fundraiser, as well as other events in previous years."
What they're saying...
Squamish has been very supportive and appreciative of the fact that high tech [industry] is evolving. People find it hard to believe technology like this is being created here. There is now a sense of pride in the community [towards what we are doing].
