And The Winner Is

BusinessSquamish.com and the Squamish Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce the winners of this year's award. 

The 2008 Local Business of the Year Award goes to Echoflex Solutions Inc, for their innovative business model and technology, sustainable solutions, and contribution to local business development. Echoflex Solutions founders Brian Aikens and Shawn Pedersen accepted this award at the Squamish Chamber of Commerce's AGM and Presidents Gala on January 31, 2009. Runner Up's included Trinity Romance and Play N Trade. 

This year's contest and award aimed at showcasing successful local businesses and promoting business development in the area. The winning business must excel in:

• level of service
• innovation
• contribution to local economic development 

Community Involvement

Through this contest we also sought more involvement from the local community, and were impressed with the level of participation, both in the business nominations we received and the online votes for your favourite business. To reward this participation two subsidiary prizes were included in the contest.

The Most Online Votes from peers went to Trinity Romance, who will receive a $75 Gift Certificate to the restaurant of their choosing in Squamish.

The Participation Prize, for one lucky randomly selected participant, went to Donna Wall, who will receive a $50 Gift Certificate to Home Depot in Squamish.
