The population of Squamish at the last census in 2006 was 14,949. This is 4.9% higher than the previous census in 2001. The total workforce of 9,035 people represented just over 60% of the population. Since the census in 2006 BC Stats has estimated that the annual population growth rates for Squamish are between 3.1% and 3.6% which is almost double the Provincial rate.
