Extensive community consultation, environmental remediation and regulatory approvals have brought the Squamish Oceanfront Development Corporation (SODC) to the Pre-Development Stage of the Community-Based Oceanfront Plan. Current and former SODC board members, residents, business groups, developers and other stakeholders have worked together to create the community’s shared vision for the Oceanfront. The evolution of the community and substantial economic impact of this important development will be realized as the Squamish Oceanfront Development Corporation is now in a position to move ahead to retain real estate and marketing firms with an eye towards construction.

The District of Squamish is pleased to announce the sale of 20 acres of District-owned land in the Squamish Business Park, located across the street from Home Depot, Sandman Inn and Squamish Toyota. After advertising for Expressions of Interest to over 1,700 industrial businesses and developers in Squamish, Whistler, the North Shore and the Lower Mainland, the District reached an agreement to sell the largest remaining vacant property east of Queens Way to Solterra Acquisition Corporation. The sale is set to close on June 9, 2012 for a purchase price of $8,000,000 paid over the next two years.
